Folks yet another copy cat. But this time, it is a discussion form not a food blog as such.
There is this forum askamma /askagent where someone requested for ennegai recipe. One response is a URL for my blog. Such responses are welcome. The next response by some lady called Neeraja Naveen who also charges money for such advice, come to my blog as directed by the previous respondent and searches for an ennegai recipe, ends up with my Brussel Sprouts recipe, unscrupulously copies my recipe and posts it as her advice. How smart? Very nice way of posting advices. She might as well post an advice as to 'how-to-google-up-stuff-and -claim-it -as-your -own' .... Copy cat.
Copycat they not only lack scruples but also basic netiquettes. Looks like they feel everything google-searched is their own property! Shame on such people. It is like a chimp wandering into my kitchen all muddy and dirty, encroaching my space and having the liberty to call it his own. Grrrh!!! If only there was a way to banish all such lawless, junglee creatures back to where they deserve to be.
Bloggers take note and of course make sure your contents have not met the same fate.

Oh dear! Hope you complained! Easy way to make money,huh? Get paid, just say "go here" and they get all our dishes we worked so hard for free from us!
ReplyDeleteYes Ashakka I have lodged a complaint both at the forum and at the lady's web page as well ! I am aghast that such a thing can happen. I have lodged a protest . I wonder what they are thinking when they do it. If only these forums had a stricter policy when it comes to plagiarism. Feel like screaming at the top of my lungs at that lady...my effort and she gets paid. wow wonderful.

How Smart there are?? Again a copycat.. sorry dear... so sad.. I had one problem like this. i sent a warning mail to them. now it was stopped.Take action Boldly.

I was viewing ammas a lot before (may be 4-5yrs before), later starting disliking it..it makes us immense sad to hear such incidents. We put soo much efforts in puttiing the recipes on our blog & they easily steal it from us, heights...

What a shame - this copying situation is becoming ridiculous. In just 3 days I have seen at least 3 blogs reporting copying. This stealing must end.

So very unethical...i wish something could be done against this .Cyber laws are inefficient to curb such malpractices and i hope some significantly stringent law comes up to shoo away such people
ReplyDeletehow pathetic! its been happening from long time and seems like there is no stopping. did u contact that lady and asked her to remove ur recipe or give credit to it? i have seen many people do it unknowingly but there are many others who do it purposely!

Yeah.. that is the whole point, you know it is a nobody-everybody's world therefore so difficult to enforce cyber laws even if they were to be in place. All we can do is hope there is nothing doing things behind our back

Such a sad thing to hear Smitha..its funny that some people think its OK to copy from blogs..they dont realize the amount of time and energy we spend on each and every post.It feels sad when someone else takes credit for that.Hope this one gets resolved soon!!
